what is in a name

Logan has responded to his name for a long time now, seems like almost from the beginning of him responding at all. Forest has started to demonstrate that knowledge as well during the past two weeks. It’s neat to be able to say their names and they turn around. Often times if [...]

Friday Quickies

I always find myself feeling particularly sexy when my hair is ubershort so thank you to Angela for last weekends cut that has had me smiling all week when I look in the mirror. I also decided to become a serious hat wearer again and bought an adorable green denim paperboy hat from Target. [...]

Advancements and Giggles

The boys started doing something pretty amazing this past weekend. They started trying to put the rings on the base, trying to put the cubes into the holes, trying to put the ball onto the truck, to put the shapes into the holes. It’s really neat to watch them understand what to do [...]

Getting Into Trouble

Here is a cute series of pictures of life these days. Baby sees something he’s not supposed to touch and is drawn to it like a moth to the flame. Forest stands there and giggles at me when I say “NO” and move his hand away from the stereo equipment. I have [...]

Talking Twins

The boys have been laughing and “talking” to each other even more lately. They will be crawling along, each doing his own thing and then catch the other’s eye and burst into smiles, laughs, and babbling or screeching. It’s something to see and hard to catch on the video camera, but I’m going [...]

8 Full Months

Talk about some busy little boys. Forest and Logan work so hard each day it’s no wonder they sleep so hard at night.
Logan has his first tooth and crawls all over the house. He chases the cats about and climbs up into a standing position from anything and everything at just [...]

We already knew this but science proved it

I just read this article on Time.com and highly recommend it.
“Baby Einsteins: Not So Smart After All”
“…the research team found that with every hour per day spent watching baby DVDs and videos, infants learned six to eight fewer new vocabulary words than babies who never watched the videos. These products had the strongest detrimental effect [...]

7 Months

It’s been awhile since I last posted due to the Aspen trip and then playing catch up all this past week. Aspen was wonderful and it was so good to be with my old friends. But after 3 days I was really missing the boys. I almost didn’t make it home Monday [...]

future communicators

Logan has started saying “dada dada dada” when upset along with his “aaaboo” that he’s been using for the past few months. Forest screams out “mama maaaamaa” when he’s upset. They are definitely using a lot of vowel and consonant mixes and on their way to finding real words!

twin chat

The boys are talking to each other now! We got it on film yesterday and I’ll try and get it posted on here this week for the grandparents to enjoy.
