One Year Old
Priceless
I find Elmo’s voice extremely annoying. So not a fan. But the 10-15 minutes of peace and quiet that I get while the boys watch Elmo’s World as the boys are beginning the pre-nap meltdown is priceless.
The Low Time
It’s that time of day. I feed the boys dinner and then I shut down. I stop trying to engage them, I get edgy and unable to distract them or interest them. Or when I try it only ends up in a ball of three very on edge, tired and often crying people. I don’t [...]
Growing and Changing
This past weekend we took the boys to their third Children/Family Retreat at Earthsprings. I noticed several things about this particular experience as well as some of the boy’s recent behaviors/accomplishments that I’d like to share.
I have always told the boys what we are going to be doing days in advance. [...]
Mother’s Prerogative
Ok, so I know that I posted this picture in the slideshow just a few moments earlier. But you can’t see how cute it is in the slideshow. I have to show off this adorable little man and his understanding to “smile” when you want to take his picture. He totally poses! [...]
Halloween 2008
Spiderman costumes were a resounding success as was the entire trick or treat experience. Last year the boys couldn’t walk yet so we wheeled them up in their double stroller. This year they got to walk up with the big kids and do it by themselves. *sniff*sniff* They grow up so fast!!
Halloween Day
This year’s October has been packed full of Halloween anticipation for the boys. Grandparents sending cute Halloween tshirts, placemats, decorations for their door, and lots of books with Halloween themes. The boys know what a ghost is and that they say “oooooo”. They know that bats “eeek” and who Frankenstein is. [...]
updates
Crib situation: It took just about a week but things are going well now. The boys do really well at bedtime, even though Logan sometimes crawls into bed with Forest, it is super sweet. Like all previous bed related transitions, we’ve had to learn to be highly selective about what brings us into [...]
Breakfast for Three
The boys have created a new way of eating breakfast in the past few weeks. They don’t sit in their chairs. They sit on daddy’s lap. Every…single..morning. He has to grab bites to eat in between them stealing his spoon or fork and eating his food. Even if it is [...]
ah hah!
I think I just figured out how to handle the transition during naps. Sit in the room with them until they fall asleep. They know fully well that they need to be staying in their own beds and if I sit in there with them, they are able to stay put and relax [...]
Week Two with Crib Climbers
It’s getting better. Instead of taking an hour and a half for them to settle down at night, it’s only taking about 45 minutes. That’s a huge difference. And despite last night’s disturbance as Logan decided in the middle of the night that he needed to be in his brother’s bed even [...]
