Whew!

Tonight as I was in the kitchen putting away remnants of the boys’ dinner, they started chasing each other around, wild giggles and laughter. Suddenly, I heard a sliding and Logan crying hysterically. I had my back turned and didn’t see exactly what had happened but assumed he’d smashed into the train table. I swooped him up into my arms and saw blood pouring down a small gash in his temple, right under his hair line. The blood quickly slowed down and I was able to get a look and realized that this was going to be an Emergency Room trip. It was a tiny cut, only the size of my pinkie fingernail, but pretty deep. The boys quickly explained to me that Logan had actually slid into the window sill which explained the gash really well.

Brad had the car today so I called Dusty who works closer to our house and he rushed over. His friend brought over her nieces’ car seat since ours were in the car with Brad and she stayed with Forest until Brad got home a few minutes after Dusty and I took Logan across the way to the local hospital.

I think we were there for about an hour or two, but of course it seemed longer. Logan was a trooper. He had not taken a nap today so he was really tired and pretty out of it at first but we kept prodding him out of concerns for a head injury and he got his second wind. He was such a good boy! My iPhone was the perfect way to keep a 2 year old occupied while waiting around for the various people who did their various parts to help us out. Turned out he didn’t need stitches but only the “Dermaglue” which is my other hero of the day. I was so grateful not to have to watch my little man go through the pain of stitches.

Logan and Forest both experience anxiety about being separated during the situation which was really touching, especially when Logan gave Forest a big hug after getting back home. It was a late bedtime but we were able to get them down pretty quickly and they are sleeping peacefully now. Now it’s Momma’s turn to go to bed.

I know it’s probably going to be the first of many of these kinds of visits with two boys and am grateful that everything went smoothly and easily, all things considered.

oh my gosh, glad he is ok !!!

glad they used the glue. i like my stitches in fabric, not the boys. hugs to the boys, logan sounds like he trooped through.

Dermaglue rules! Glad that Logan handled the experience like a champion…along with his mama. I think, for those of us with twin boys, we might as well get some sort of tram set up that leads straight to the ER.
