Missing you

I started using the word “miss” often to the boys to talk about missing grandparents and their daddies. We’d use the pretend phones to call them and I’d say “now tell Nana you miss her” and Forest started to do it. He tends to freeze up on real phone calls though but I’ve heard him say it a few times even if I’m the only one who understands what he’s saying. Anyway, he has made it clear that he has some idea of what the word means and has started coming to me randomly and saying, “Momma, me sad.” I always ask, “Why are you sad, baby?” “Me miss Nana and Papa” has become the most common answer, followed closely by “Mouth hurts” to indicate teething pain. So there you have it, grandparents. Your little man misses you! And tells me all the time.
