Train Demolition

The train table that we got the boys for Christmas has been an awesome purchase. They play on it constantly during the day and have found fun ways to incorporate their other toys in with it. The only down side has been how easy it comes apart. We expected this though and have made a conscious choice not to glue everything down so that we can let it constantly change and evolve. So that they can learn how to move it and change it.

Last week was the first time though that they did this:

Yes, every single piece was torn down and I had to start from scratch. Ugh! I had to take a picture so that I wouldn’t freak out about it. At least I have a good way to deal with my not so great mom moments!

You MUST buy SureTracks!!!

They are little plastic clips that you clip in between each track piece to hold them together. Ever since we started using them, the boys can NOT take the track apart.

If you look very closely at the picture of the train table in this photo, you can see little white plastic pieces.

Best $8 you will ever spend! (on train related stuff)

Hmmmm….that looks awfully familiar! :)

Our boys received a very cool train set from their grandparents for Christmas. I set it once (took me 15 minutes to get the layout just right) and they tore it down in 30 seconds. I then set it up again, this time with a less elaborate track set-up and it took them 15 seconds to throw it all over the living room.

Now the train set is stored in the closet for later use. :)

P.S. Your guys are beautiful. Their eyes and that gorgeous hair!
