Numbers and songs
I’ve started introducing the boys to numbers and counting. They already know all the capital letters of the alphabet and most of the small letters, although we are still working on the order via the alphabet song, which they love. It’s adorable to see them trying to count EVERYTHING. It’s a lot more complicated a concept then colors or even the alphabet so I expect it to take awhile to identify the symbols for numbers, the words for numbers, and the idea of numbers. But Logan amazed me today but showing me that he knows what the symbol for a number looks like ie 1, 2, 3. He doesn’t know which is which but he still had a general idea of what I was asking for. Just goes to show that I can’t keep up with what all is going on inside as they learn at warp speed.
They’ve entered the phase where they love songs and especially songs with hand motions. Like the hokie pokie, and itsy bitsy spider. Talk about an easy way to change a crazy siblings fighting over the same toy situation into fun and giggles. There are a couple that are so easy, they say them to us instead of the other way around. Thanks to Brad’s Owl clan for the banana song for Forest and to Kerry Lemon for the Bear in the Garden game that makes both boys giggle.
