Week Two with Crib Climbers

It’s getting better. Instead of taking an hour and a half for them to settle down at night, it’s only taking about 45 minutes. That’s a huge difference. And despite last night’s disturbance as Logan decided in the middle of the night that he needed to be in his brother’s bed even though he was clearly causing crowding, it’s getting better.

Naps are still crazy. Yesterday I had to hold both boys until they went to sleep. Logan was almost out immediately but Forest fought the good fight. I figure naps will be the last thing to get back to normal again.

I just wish we could have had a chance to wait for all this until they were old enough to reason with (I’m so jealous of the Childs Play household!). But we didn’t get a choice in the matter so I think we are doing pretty good. Oh, and we took some solicited advice from over the weekend such as taking time to pat backs and sing to the boys after turning out the light to help them calm down a bit before leaving the room. They also don’t have a night light now. Sunday and Monday night’s antics proved that light is not necessary for shenanigans!

We got lucky.

Also, I think that the boy/girl dynamic is good here too because Swee’Pea is the rule enforcer and TheMonk likes to pretend he’s good at following rules so they are good for each other.

Hang in there!
