Crib Climbing - a week
It’s now been five days since the boys realized they can climb in and out of their beds at will. We had one super great night, Wednesday, and a couple more difficult ones. Last night it again took them about an hour and a half to settle down and fall asleep. Not sure what will be in store for Dusty this weekend. Seems like they often tend to be on really good behavior for him though.
I definitely think they are getting the hang of it more and more each day but they just have trouble settling down and I think it may take awhile for them to learn how and us to learn how to help them. Books in bed on Wednesday night seemed to be a good move, although it could have just been coincidence.
Naps have been interesting. We head in at 12:30 and Forest is usually tuckered out and ready to fall asleep by 1. Unfortunately Logan eggs things on so I’ve been taking Logan out of their bedroom and into our room where I rock him, tightly held in my arms. When I feel his breathing settle down and his body start to relax, I take him back to his own bed to fall asleep. Yesterday I got a treat and he fell asleep in my arms. Nothing more wonderful!
I’m not sure if we should be doing more “settle down” time with them before expecting them to fall asleep of if we just need to see this through as they learn their own techniques.
