Tid Bits

Logan knows these colors: blue, red, green, yellow, pink and white. He knows orange but calls it “gune”, it’s consistent so I consider it known. He also knows grey, black and brown but sometimes gets those confused. He’s starting to try and figure out the letters thing since brother is so into it. He’s not consistent yet but he does seem to know B, C, and D.

Forest knows these letters: A, B, H, J, L, M, N, O, R, S, T. I might be missing a few because there are a few that he sometimes knows as well. Well, it’s sometimes some days but dead on other days. He knows that the words “red” and “blue” are colors but he doesn’t get it yet. If you ask what color something is he just picks one of those randomly.

Hurricane Ike is less then 24 hours from Galveston but so far they are showing it’ll probably head east at landfall. This means we may not even get any rain from it. I was hoping for rain. And just in case, I did do the grocery shopping yesterday so that I wouldn’t have to do it in a rain storm. And I’m not going to mop the floors today. And I bought comfort foods for the weekend. Just in case.

Brad and I are huge geeks. But geeks in the cool, sexy way. But geeks none the same. We are taking advantage of his mother’s coming to town to watch the boys for our anniversary to go to the Texas Ren Faire. It’ll be so much fun for us to get to roam around there for two days enjoying the people watching, jousting, falconry, turkey legs, warm spiced wine, jewelry, costumes, etc, etc.

Yesterday the boys found a stunned dove in the backyard while I was putting away the groceries. I was able to find a wildlife rescue group here in town so I caught the bird and Dusty took it over there for recuperation. They said it probably hit the window and would be ok in 2 days to 2 weeks. I’m glad that the boys got to see what to do in that situation. When I was trying to catch the bird it almost got into the neighbors yard with the fierce sounding dog. I’m so glad it didn’t because I’m not sure it would have survived.
