Setteling back in

Unfortunately I have no photos from our vacation last week because we misplaced our camera’s battery charger during the recent move. Hopefully this weekend Brad and I can either tear apart the office and find it or go to Best Buy and purchase a replacement. Either way, I need to be able to take photos again!

In other news, Forest has added the letter “J” to his alphabet knowledge. And he keeps calling “W” “M”. But that’s understandable, this is hard stuff for a guy who’s got less then two years under his belt!

Last night both boys slept really well. Forest’s cold seems to be getting better, although Logan’s got a bit of a runny nose now, it’s nothing like Forest’s was and hopefully we can keep it from getting to that point. All praise the power of the humidifier! I started using one diligently a few years ago and I swear by them as one of the ultimate health cures.

The weather here is pouring down rain one minute and bright sunshine the next. The boys are obviously not feeling up to snuff this week because they haven’t wanted to be outside for more then about 30 minutes at a time. This is good since it then takes me an hour to get all the mud off of them, their shoes, and the floor where they came in. This morning I got them to help “clean” the house. It was a lot of fun and I’ve been inspired to get them to learn how to do more things on their own. Like how to take off their clothes. And later today I’m going to teach them how to spread peanut butter and jelly on bread. I fully expect it to be one messy lesson.

Along the same lines we are approaching the time to introduce them to the potty and big boy beds. I found myself doing my usual “must research” yesterday but about five minutes in I just lost interest. I’m not saying that I think I’m some kind of child raising expert but the last year has really helped me loosen up and worry less about “doing it wrong.” I think we’ll just pick one and move forward to tackle it, dealing with each hurdle as it arises based on how the boys react. I mean, people have been raising kids for centuries before books and the internet, right?!
