Sometimes you just have to do it

Traveling on an airplane by myself with the twins for the second time this year. Man have we become quit the airplane travelers! Three trips last year and this is the second one this year, with possibly one more to come in November. Only this time the boys can say “airplane” (in their own way) and know that they fly in the “sky” (Logan says sky really well), which they point up to. Earlier this year I was FREAKED OUT at the prospect. I was nervous and at various points even cried in fear of the potential for insanity. But there was none. They were sweet and took naps. This time I’m very blase about it all. I mean, I’ve done it once already, right? I fear the unknown in a big way. Not unknown cities or people, but unknown situations.

This time we are flying during their bed time. The bad part of that means hanging out in the Vegas airport with 2 - 20 month old toddlers and all their “just before bedtime” crazy energy. I’m hoping that the Southwest Airline folks will let my mom have a pass through security to help me wrangle them pre-boarding, but since they don’t have to (which I think sucks) I have to be prepared for whatever comes. I have the portable DVD player and loads of snacks. We bought some new cars, motorcycles and books just for the trip. It’ll be just fine (won’t it?).

Hi Dawn!

I was just in Austin visiting Tracey. It’s such an awesome city!

Good luck with the flight. Our next trip in September, we are going in the middle of the night, which makes me nervous. But just like you, they surprised us last time, so maybe they will surprise us again?

Good luck!
