Braces - 2 months

It’s been 9 weeks since I had the braces put on and my “fangs” are already gone. I saw my parents about two weeks after I got them back in May and my mom asked if I was able to fit these through my teeth yet. I thought that was a silly question because I assumed that if this was going to be a two year process, it would be some time before the teeth noticeably moved. Boy was I in for a shock. A few weeks ago I found that I can easily fit them between all of my teeth. Between teeth that I used to have trouble fitting dental floss between.

I haven’t had tooth pain like last month however there have been lots of sores developing in the places where the wire stretches across the gaps left by the pulled teeth. This is tough because the dental wax won’t stay put on those so I just have to wait it out. But it’s amazing how much smaller those gaps already are.

I can feel my bite changing. My mouth sometimes finds itself confused and I bite down in a weird way that causes teeth to crash into each other. I’ve noticed this week that my bite is definitely changing.

I have my next appointment on Tuesday and I’m curious about the next step. I suppose the next 22 months will be about shifting and adjusting and making the bite and jaw work right together. I wonder how much space will be between all the teeth in the end. How it will look and feel.
