Catching up

I’m in the world of screeching, whining, fighting, hitting 19 month-olds right now. The good news is that it’s caused by the molar teething that is going on. Toddlers with tempers – because gosh darn it, they hurt. Logan is on his third molar, a bottom one. Forest’s first on top is pushing through with a vengeance. It wasn’t bad this weekend having Brad to help cuddle and deflect Forest during his worst times, but Monday came quickly. But I know that this isn’t permanent and that in just a few weeks it’ll be better.

It was a really good weekend. We continued our goal to empty out the garage before moving next door by FreeCycling lots of things and taking baby stuff to friends expecting a baby boy in September. If you haven’t heard about www.freecycle.org, you should check it out. It is in small towns and big cities. I’m a huge fan because it’s all part of the “reuse” part of helping the planet. And it’s all about “free” so it’s saving money.

Saturday morning we took the boys on their first hiking type exploration. Austin is packed full of areas around town where you absolutely forget that you are anywhere near a city. The boys are now old enough to take out and about for short hikes so I expect we’ll be doing this more. They got to climb rocks, saw tadpoles and tiny frogs, played with dogs, wandered and meandered with the best of ‘em. And since we are up so darn early, it means we can go do cool stuff like this before it gets hot (101 degrees this weekend) and unbearable.

And now the boys have been napping for 30 minutes and Momma needs some lunch. Have a great Monday!

sorry about the molars, mace is on his firth (bottom left) and it is the worst yet. it breaks my heart because i can see the pain, but it is temporary (just scarring me, i think). o just started his first and he takes it differently…he gets sad and tired. almost thru….seems like forever though.

good luck with the move. hiking sounds great. we are taking one tomorrow with my sis.

Man, I am forever having trouble accessing and leaving a comment on your blog while at work! Why on Earth would they block blogs?!? :)

Molars! Ah, Finn and Reid have a horrible time with them. They are just totally different kids. They are almost done getting their bottom set. Actually, Finn is pretty much completado and is like a whole new kid. Reid, although hard to tell because he’s been so sick, is still biting his fist and yelping a lot during the day. I guess if I had those huge suckers coming in, I’d be pissed off too.

You’re moving? Cool. We needed more space and moved a few months ago. It is nice to know the whereabouts of every single item in the new house…not the case in the last one. Nonetheless, I will have to check out Freecycle.org. Thanks for the tip!

Good luck with the molars! Sometimes I wish they just came with teeth. Though, the toothless grins are pretty damn cute.
