Sleep Disruption

I think that another reason this week feels tougher is because I’m on my sixth day of not getting a full night’s sleep. For two days Logan was getting too hot at night and waking up at around 11:30 for an hour, so I bought them cooler sleep sacks. Then for two days he was doing the developmental wake up at 4 AM, wanting to talk, there went another couple hours. Then a day of Logan waking up at 5 AM, but I was able to quickly get him back to sleep after moving the rocking chair back into their bedroom for some back to sleep cuddles. Now it’s Forest’s turn. Not to be outdone he is waking up at 4:45 AM, wide awake, wanting to go back to sleep - but in my arms. This morning I really did enjoy taking the little guy back to bed with me and hearing his breathing slow down into a soft sleep. I’m grateful that they aren’t both waking up at the same time and are just tag teaming.

So yes, running on less sleep which of course makes me a bit edgy. But I won’t deny that I’m enjoying those middle of the night/early morning cuddles with the boys. I hold them close and try and remember every single part of the experience of having toddlers who want to be hugged and hug back.

Ahh yes. The less sleep we get… Mine wake at 11 (they switch weeks of whom is waking up), and 1, and 4. At 4 I break down and end up with them end bed with me, tucked in the crook of my arm. Hope yours get better about letting you sleep soon!
