The Interpreter
I spend a lot of time deciphering screams. Are the boys fighting over space/a toy and going to figure it out on their own? Or did Logan just bite Forest to get what he wants? Is that just frustration or is Forest seriously hurt? Is Logan just being clingy or did he try and climb into his booster seat alone and fall? And even after making a “command decision”, 80% of the time I still have no idea if my interpretation was right or not. Such a microcosm of the world.

its hard to believe now, but soon our kids will be talking to us and be able to tell us what’s going on in their heads, what’s bothering them, what they want
they’re such little people already - hard to believe that one day they will using the bathroom, dressing themselves, talking in complete sentences, coming up with their own ideas

yeah, why were there no classes in college that focused on scream interpretation? would have been much more help to me than the french studies class on la belle epoque (though the professor was hot in that french way).
