Missing Daddy

Brad has been gone for 10 days. The boys now know how to communicate that they know who their daddies are and when they miss daddy. And let me tell you, it just kills me. I have had tears in my eyes so many times over these 10 days because every time the boys see Brad’s picture they make the sign for daddy, say “daaad” and look at me with big questioning brown eyes. Sometimes they look to the front door or window as they say/sign it.

But today I get to say, “he’s coming home tonight!”. Today I get to say, “Daddy will be home to tuck you into bed, baby.” It’s one thing to miss my husband but when my kids are able to communicate that they miss him to, it makes me miss him ten times more.

When I told the boys that this morning I also said, “and Mommy is sooo excited!” and started jumping up and down. Logan started trying to jump up and down with me! Closest he’s ever come. Forest did a little jig. So we are one “missing-daddy-but-happy-he’s-coming-home-today” family.
