slackin’

I’m slacking on intelligent, thought provoking or even half way interesting posts this week.

We had a round of fevers at the beginning of the week but today both boys seemed “mostly” back to normal and Logan even took his first nap in a week without a wake up (meaning I have to go in, he sees I’m there, stops screaming, rolls over and goes back to sleep) . Brad and I have been exhausted after several weeks of great sleep and then this regression by Logan. It started with him being sick on Saturday night but I’m not sure what’s going on now. My guess is teething. It’s like having an infant again only I don’t have to do anything, just struggle out of bed, make an appearance and then it’s back to sleep. Just stinks to wake up every three hours.

The boys are learning some really cute stuff right now. I can sing “If your happy and you know it” through several verses and Forest will follow along and do various things like slap his knees, wiggle his nose, clap his hands, touch his toes. Both boys learned to wiggle their noses thanks to an Easter book that Grandma Trammell sent. It’s been a big hit with it’s cute pictures, song and light up eggs. Logan can identify a lot of words now and tries to say more and more weekly. Forest seems to be more vocal right now as well. Not sure if this is the big move on his part or just another one of his “I’m going to try this out for a week and then go back to squeeks and squeels”.

With coaching the boys can both do the sign for “more”. I am trying to get them to do drink next but “more” is a big one. Should help with a lot of communication. It’s neat because we got all into doing the signs with them many months ago but then fizzled out. Dusty stayed pretty good at it I think but Brad and I slacked. But now that the toddler communication tantrums have arrived, I figured we should see if anything clicks. It took all of a few hours for them to figure out “more”. So I’m optimistic about “drink.”

Tomorrow I have my first of two days of cavities being filled. I am not overly anxious but I am not excited either. Once these are filled I will make the appointment to have my braces put on at the beginning of May. Anyway, don’t expect many posts this weekend either as I’ll be recovering from dental stuff and enjoying a weekend of “Dawn” time while the boys go with Dusty to his parent’s house. I have big plans for a Saturday night out with the girls. Margaritas and TexMex… yay!

First…make sure you drink one for me! Next to the important stuff… I wish I had spent more time with mine doing signs. But I never did. It sure would come in handy. Hope everyone gets back on schedule for you soon. Too cute about the singing. I hate the dentist. UGH! I so need to make an appointment, but keep putting it off. Hope the recuperation is easy!
