can’t live without
I recently started thinking about writing a post dedicated to some of the things that I have loved over the past few years as a Mom. Stuff that made/makes my life easier and that I enjoy using as part of my “job”. Then today I read this post on Motherhood Uncensored talking about her favorites and asking about ours. So I decided to finish up my thoughts on the subject.
- Since the boys started eating solids and most recently self feeding with utensils, I am a huge fan of bumkin bibs and these cool sassy spoons. The bumpkin bibs are the greatest because I can dunk them into the sink with dishes or wash them down with a sponge and they are completely dry a few hours later for the next meal. We need only four bibs for two toddlers because of this awesome efficiency. And the spoon, well I just haven’t found anything that the boys can handle as well. I’d like to experiment in the future but for now, these work really well.
- While I had to give it up at around 9 months when the boys became to heavy to haul around in their car seats, the Baby Trend Double Snap and Go stroller was the one of the greatest shower gifts I received. I can’t imagine how it would have been to constantly be moving them back and forth between car seats and strollers those first few months when just going to the grocery store for a single item was a huge feat. Logan hated being put in his car seat but I think taking walks with them using the Snap and Go finally gave him a reason to like it.
- During a recent visit my Mother-in-Law decided to spoil me and bought me the new top-of-the-line Graco Quattro Tour Duo Stroller in Soho. What a difference from the used old school duo glider I bought on craigslist 2 years ago! This new one is smooth and sexy. I feel “cool” wheeling the boys around in this fine piece of baby gear and it can hold double the amount of weight in the bottom so shopping trips can last longer, or at least as long as the boys can last that is. It’s easy to maneuver and has all the important features that we need like cup holders and snack cups.
- I have one clothing item I couldn’t live without for the boys. Carter’s rompers. I don’t know what it is about these cute little things but the boys spent most of last year in various styles appropriate for the current season. Today I went to Babies R Us in search of pants for the boys and was sucked into one of the ongoing Carter’s sales, resulting in the purchase of the first set of short rompers for this year. I seem to associate “rompers” with “CUTE.”
And what about me? What things did I do for myself this year that I couldn’t have lived without? I found two companies that make jeans that fit well and feel great, DKNY and Calvin Klein. And this Wacoal bra that makes it through a whole day without bothering me at all.
And what about you? What things do you dig and couldn’t imagine living without?

I’m a big Bumpkins bib fan as well. I don’t think I could live without our Skip Hop Duo Double diaper bag.
For myself…??? I bought a new coffee mug. :)
