College is paid for
College is paid for… mine that is. Some 13 years later.
Last night we did something amazing. We paid off my student loan. I graduated college in ‘95 and have been paying on that darn thing ever since. It was such a momentous occasion that involved only a few clicks of the computer keyboard making it rather anti-climatic.
The funny thing was that yesterday when I called Sallie Mae for the pay off quote, the customer service rep asked me why I wanted to pay it off. Obviously this is a question that they are supposed to ask in case someone is giving you a better interest rate or something, I guess. All I know is that I busted out laughing because no matter how much I logically knew it was a question that had merit to someone, to me it was just ludicrous. I stumbled through my giggles “because I can pay it off and we don’t want to keep paying interest on it.” The rep laughed with me saying that yes, that was a very good reason. It was very odd.

wow, wish i could be in your boat. not even close, but i do have them on the ultra low interest plan. hey, quick question. i know you mentioned some time ago about the boys and a possible nap change. i am not sure what is going down around here but they are starting to freak me out. if they have a long a.m. nap the p.m. nap is horribly difficult. is this the start of the 2-1 nap change? how is it going in your house? right now we have early wakers (630, ugh) and 2 nap days with bedtime at 7. it is okay but they are really tired by then. any suggestions or just want to rwrite about what you are doing? if you are strapped for time do not worry, feel free to drop a note. smiles to you and your boys, they just keep getting sweeter…i love the stories but cannot see the pictures on my laptop because it is for work and they have all types of blocks on it. i do love reading though.
Yay! I’m so excited that we have that behind us. Now, to find other new expensive things to spend our money on!
