ecstactic moment
Ecstatic moment yesterday:
As I walked in to wake the boys up from their afternoon nap, Forest was starting to wake up on his own. I got down on the floor and put my head close to the crib. Still laying on his tummy, he reached his hand out through the bars and we held hands for awhile as I pressed my head close to his with only the bars separating us. We looked into each other’s eyes and smiled very big smiles. I kissed his hand and squeezed his fingers gently. On a day when I wasn’t feeling good, that was a slice of heaven for me. His eyes can make the whole world disappear.
Ecstatic moment this morning:
After dropping Brad off at his physical therapy appointment, the boys and I arrived back home. I first got Logan out of the car and then Forest, holding both since they are still in their footy pjs and it’s a bit chilly outside. They seem entranced by the new leaves on the tree so I walk over to the base of the tree saying to the boys, “let’s say good morning to the tree.” Both boys reached out their hands as we approached and touched the tree’s trunk. The tree hugger that I am, my heart exploded as my eyes welled up with little happy tears.
Such joy!
