15 Month Well Babies
The little men had their 15 month appointment yesterday morning. Logan had some kind of 24 hour stomach bug on Sunday that seemed to be leveling off so the doctor advised that it was ok to go ahead and give them this round of shots. He wasn’t eating well and had a lot of diarrhea on Sunday. Yesterday he was mostly back to normal but didn’t eat any dinner! I think that the infamous toddler food thing is kicking in. I’m taking lots of deep breaths and letting go of any expectations in the food department.
Anyway, here are the current stats:
Forest is 20 lbs and 30 inches tall
Logan is 23 lbs 14 oz and 31 1/2 inches tall
The doctor gave me lots of suggestions to fatten Forest up such as whip cream in his soy milk, avocado, cheese, olive oil on his food, butter on any bread. Let me tell you, he sure does love the whip cream idea! And interestingly enough, while Logan won’t touch avocado, Forest has always liked it.
We continue to be blessed with very healthy boys.

I forgot to mention another thing that I do. I make a little smoothie out of mango, whipping cream, whole milk yogurt and a bit of ice. They love it.
At 12 months, Finn and Reid were just over 17 lbs, but healthy as a horse. Now that they are eating more finger foods, they are chunkin’ up a bit. And, my back is telling me that they are weighing more too, with every trip that I carry them both up and down the stairs!

We’ve got the same thing going on with our kids. We try to add calories where we can. I hate that it seems all we can add are things that have a ton of saturated fat, so I try to stick with the olive oil when I can. Although I do all of the techniques that your pedi suggested as well. They have yet to like avocado, but love butter on their toast and anywhere else I can throw it in.
