sleep regression?

Logan had a hard time sleeping Friday night but it wasn’t unusual because we were in a new place. However, he’s usually fine by the next night but Saturday he skipped his afternoon nap and was a mess again Saturday night. Up and down screaming. Sunday night he had a few moments around the time I went to bed at 10 PM but was otherwise awesome considering he didn’t nap well again and we put them to bed at 6:30 (an hour early).

Last night, it was like CIO all over again. He started screaming bloody murder the minute I left the room and would immediately lay back down and go quiet when I came back in. I didn’t watch the clock but just kinda would wait and go in. I got caught up in the emotion of it last night and ended up picking him up and holding him to sleep. He started having scream fits again at around 3:30 AM and I ended up bringing him to bed with me at that point. Of course he slept perfectly well from then on. Tonight was a repeat of last night, I put them to bed at the normal time but Logan started screaming when I would leave the room. This time I timed myself and started taking longer and longer to respond. Man is it harder when you are all alone and don’t have your spouse to help tell you it’s going to be ok. I figured that if Forest could fall asleep through it then I could stay calm as well. So after about 45 minutes he finally fell asleep.

All this for a boy who for the past so many months I can’t even remember how long now, has been going to bed without a single sound.

What’s the cause?
Teething? I had given him some motrin a few hours ago so that shouldn’t be it.
Missing Brad? Maybe, we’ll find out tomorrow night since Brad should be home from his trip to Mexico any minute now.
I can’t find anyone commenting on a sleep regression at this age and Logan’s always been my text book case.
If anyone has any suggestions, I’d love to hear them. Otherwise I’m just chalking it up to a little bit of this and a little bit of that and any day now it’ll all blow over and he’ll be back to sleeping from 7:45 PM to 6:00 AM without a peep.
