gym day care update

Wednesday I took the boys back to the gym. This time I was prepared to spend about 15 - 20 minutes on an eliptical machine to give the boys a chance to be in the day care space without me. Just a few minutes before I was about to hit the 15 minute mark and head on home, I heard the page for me to come to the kids space. I walked in to see Forest’s little lip trembling as he sat on the caretaker’s lap. Logan’s lip had just started as he got scared from Forest’s being scared. That’s how it works with these boys. They don’t cry every time the other does, but they do cry if one gets super scared. They’ve understood each other’s cries since birth. The lady assured me that they will get used to it in time and pointed to one of the little girls about their same age and said she had a really hard time at first, but there she was running around content.

I had hoped to take the boys back yesterday but we had bad weather and since baby raincoats seem to run upwards of $20 each (if anyone can lead me to some cheaper, please do), we stayed in. I was planning, yet again, to go today but Forest seems to have other plans.

Last night his nose started running. I’m not sure what all was going on but he didn’t fall into a good sleep until about 12:30 - 1:00 AM when I finally gave in and gave him some ibuprofen. That makes me think it was the two new teeth coming in and not the runny nose, but all we can do is guess. This morning his nose was a mess, with lots of slippery sneezes and me having to keep tissues in the pocket and wipes close at hand for his little hands that seem to always reach his nose before I do. He’s very tired and clingy and while the nose seems to be doing better as the day goes on, I’m weary about taking him into the germ factory and making it worse when we are about to go out of town.

Brad left last night for his five day trip to Mexico so Dusty and I are taking the boys to his parents up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Looks like I’ll need to have Dusty watch the boys on Monday for me while I go have my first visit with the trainer. I had hoped to have them acclimated to the day care by then but I’m not willing to push it just for the sake of pushing it. I’ve learned that that doesn’t work with Forest and that if I can just be patient, he’ll get it.

So this whole gym day care is going to take some time, but that’s ok because time is something we have. In abundance.
