Such a cool age

Things that our twins do that excite me with joy because it means they are learning about their environment:

Forest loves to close doors. If you say, “close the door”, he rushes over to do it.

Logan loves to tickle and says it so cute. Thanks to “Are You Ticklish”, a fantastic buy at Costco some months ago, we get to hear it all the time.

Both boys cuddle their Anne Geddes’ dolls, ladybug and bee, bought by Grandpa Warren before they were born. I always tell them that they are such “good daddies” for taking care of their babies.

The boys enjoy putting their snack cups and sippy cups away. I can open the fridge (which they know by name) and they will put them on the bottom shelf. Of course then I have to fend them off of everything else but it’s still really cool. If I say “Do you want a drink”, they rush to the fridge. Or if Logan wants a drink he will stand at the fridge door and point making various sounds. If he’s hungry, he goes to his booster chair at the table and tries to climb in.

They can pick up a particular book by name, like “Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do You See?” or “8 Silly Monkeys”.

They know how to use a brush and immediately identify hats and where they go. Same with eye glasses.

I’ve witnessed both boys trying to engage us and each other in play. I’ve seen them both try to make us laugh at them by doing silly things and then waiting for our response. Because they’ve had me give them rides up and down the hallway on a blanket, they will try and pull each other. Logan likes pushing Forest around the house on the little car. Eventually it’s his turn but he still doesn’t seem to mind doing it for a bit.

Logan punctuates sentences with a head shake. He’ll say something and then bob his head up and down in a sort of “got it?” way.
