Book Rotation
The guys now have three books in their “favorite” rotation. All three must be kept on a very high shelf to prevent damage and protect them from teething (Logan has shredded many a book’s spine with his teeth). So when it’s nap or bedtime and we say, “time for a story” and they look up to the shelf and point in hopes that we’ll read one of the BIG Three.
First is the previously mentioned “peek a baby”, next is “A Bug’s World Touch and Feel Book” and finally “8 Silly Monkeys“. As an avid reader I just love that I can walk into the bedroom and find Forest looking through books all by himself. And I love to have both boys seated in my lap before a nap as I read them a story and let them turn the pages. One of those moments when I am feeling especially lucky to have two.

For their birthday, Finn and Reid received a box-set of Karen Katz books. Despite being supervised while reading them, I’ve had to repair at least 5 pages on two of the books.
It’s interesting that “favorites” develop this early.
