Where oh where

I am happy to report that the newly revised nap schedule is working like a charm. We have our happy sleepers back. We celebrated this along with some 80 degree sunshine this weekend with a trip to the park and playing in the front yard. It’s so cool to watch the boys figuring out how to navigate the park toys and graduate to go down the slide alone.

Can someone please tell me what happened to my sweet, sweet babies? They have become possessed in the recent week and to put it simply, they are whiney little brats. Logan screams at the drop of a hat and all the time. He stands in the middle of the room and just cries because he’s unhappy about this or that. Forest whines at the drop of a hat, or a any time his brother touches him. They fight constantly. Could this be an introduction to that toddler-hood I keep hearing about? Forest appears to be super close to cutting that first tooth (finally!) so he has a good reason. Whatever Logan’s reason is is invisible to us all so I keep thinking “well maybe he has a sore throat” or “maybe he has an upset tummy”. Or it could be more teeth for him as well. Whoever said that “it gets easier once the first tooth breaks through” didn’t have a teether like Logan. But reasons only keep me from killing them. They don’t stop the annoying screaming that is standing on the other side of the gate at this very moment.

ever heard of the book wonder weeks? they hypothesize that during big leaps in development kiddies get crazy/fussy. i have yet to have their times correspond to our boys times, but it does give you one more reason to add to the list. you know the next line, hang in there, dawn, this too shall pass.
