recent happenings
I’ve been so busy recently getting ready for the holidays and chasing the boys around the house that I haven’t had a chance to get much down here. This will also be a quick one but I had a few things I didn’t want to forget.
The boys enjoy spicy food! Jalapeños, habenero salsa… next time we go out to eat it’s going to be Swad (our favorite Indian restaurant in town). It’s good to find that they enjoy something new since they’ve started that toddler food thing. Some days they eat anything and everything put in front of them and still want more. Other days they eat a few bites and immediately want down.
The boys have become very good at stacking. Legos, toys, whatever, they like to stack things on top of each other. I thought this came later but apparently 1 year was the magic number for our budding architects.
We bought our first real shoes yesterday. Time for them to be able to safely toddle around outside after it’s been raining and cold.
The little guys know a lot of words now. They don’t say much that isn’t babble but they understand and will do things that you ask of them. They will point to the nose on a stuffed animal or look down at their shoes if you say that word. They will go get their favorite “lovies” because they know their names as well. Forest knows “pacifier” and they both also seem to know “daddy” but I’m not convinced about mommy yet.
They understand that a brush or comb is used on the hair and will be happy to “brush” your hair for you. They also like to kick a ball and are already on the way to being little soccer stars!
Logan throws full on tantrums now. The whole “throw body down onto the floor, arms raised above the head, hands and feet banging up and down into the ground” full on tantrum. How it is that they know this instinctually, I will never know. I woulda thought they’d have to learn that one. Not so.
And soon their first participatory Christmas!
