Playing Outside
The weather is perfect right now so I get to take the boys out in the afternoon and enjoy the yard. No more 100 degree temperatures, no more rain, no more mosquitoes… just beautiful sunshine and breezes to keep us cool. Yesterday I took over a hundred pictures of the boys exploring the […]
First Childrens’ Retreat
Friday at around 7:00 PM we loaded the boys and all necessary gear into the car and headed out for the 3.5 hour drive to the beautiful land known as Earthsprings. They slipped peacefully into sleep as expected since it was almost bedtime and made it all the way there without incident. Brad […]

Oh how they change
Not so long ago Forest would get very nervous about being tossed into the air and Logan loooved it. Neither was bothered by the vacuum cleaner sounds and over all it just seemed like Forest was the more cautious one and Logan a daredevil. But then they changed. The vacuum cleaner strikes […]
Keratosis pilaris
I’ve always had little pumps on my upper arms but it was never very noticeable until after I had the babies. In fact I remember during the pregnancy it cleared up completely. I had always thought it was acne but was surprised when it came back even worse earlier this year and no […]
Things I’m doing for me - Ceremony
This year was my sixth year attending the Spiritwoman retreat the second weekend in October. It is an amazing group of women who meet together at least yearly in a nondenominational spiritual context to support each other. We sing, dance, laugh, eat, cry, heal, learn, talk, listen, and many things that I can’t put […]

This weekend we are taking the boys to Earthsprings, my home away from home. This will be their first children’s retreat there and I am so darn excited that I can hardly contain myself when I think about it. I’ve been going to Earthsprings for about 6 years now and at various points […]
climbing and pointing
The boys have gotten really good at climbing. They climb over us, over pillows, and I’ve really started to have to watch them because they are starting to almost climb up onto stuff that would/could be dangerous. It’s really cute. They are also really into pointing now. So I’m starting the […]
you make me feel like dancin’
When the boys hear music, they now respond. Logan bounces up and down while Forest claps his hands. It’s amazing because it seems to be some kind of inborn thing that we as humans move to music. I don’t know how or why it is but I do know that it fills […]
Picky
Forest is a picky eater. The good news is that it’s a good picky. He wants real cheese and fruit, not processed or jarred. He also makes cute sounds when he’s enjoying his meal, a lot like I do. Gotta love a baby with good taste.
