Naps and Sleep Changes at 9 Months
I haven’t been able to post in awhile because the boys’ naps are all over the place. Between returning from Vegas, getting colds with lots of snotty noses, Forest trying to learn how to move around and get comfortable on his own, and just in general 9 month old wanting to play instead of sleep… I haven’t had much of my usual “Momma” time. We’ve even started having me shower in the mornings before Brad heads off to work instead of waiting for nap time since it’s not always a sure thing. Although now that the colds seem to be getting better at least the morning naps have returned with a vengeance. While Forest used to be our wake up in the early morning man, he is now sleeping really well and Logan is the one waking up at 4:00 or 5:00 am and not wanting to go back to sleep. What they say about twins is true, one of them is always keeping you up! We’ve fooled Logan a few times back to sleep but again, nothing is a sure thing.
And of course just as I type about how great morning naps are, just the opposite happened, both boys woke up and because of Logan’s screaming hysterically Forest couldn’t be coaxed back down. While they do well at falling asleep at night despite crying by each other, they can’t handle it during the day (not tired enough I guess). So I need to go get back to Forest because while Logan seems in pretty good cheer and is chasing the cats around, Forest is a mess and can’t understand why his peaceful rest was so rudely interrupted. Thank god for errands and car naps. I don’t care what the experts say, they are one of a Mom’s best tricks. It also doesn’t hurt that they may get grumpy but they don’t completely melt down like they used to when they are tired. Sure signs that they are growing up.
