Things Change - toys
I used to be super careful about what was within the reach of the boys and just what they put into their mouths. However that changed when at around six months when they began to find themselves bored with anything that’s been around longer then a couple weeks and I realized they’d mastered eye hand-coordination enough not to poke an eye out. And so pretty much anything and everything is fair game to become a toy. Measuring cups, empty formula can with the scoop still inside to make clinking noises, 14 inch drum and stick, empty boxes of all sizes and shapes… the list changes daily. Don’t get me wrong, I won’t leave them alone with the drum stick for fear that they will try climbing a piece of furniture holding the stick and fall forward causing serious injury to an eye or a brother’s eye. But if I’m in the room and monitoring the situation, everything has toy potential. And I figure right now life is all about experiences and opportunities to learn so why not get creative instead of always rushing out to Toys-R-Us for a new expense. That said, I did find myself perusing the baby toy aisle of Walmart the other day and got the cutest little kitty-vibrating-giggling thing. I’m a fool for a cute kitty-vibrating-giggling thing and so seem to be the boys. Although they aren’t very interested in toys much these days. Climbing is where it is at, but that’s for another entry, another day.
