excited
In a few hours we’ll be hitting the highway with the boys and heading north to Dallas/Fort Worth. Over the course of the past six weeks (or so) we’ve been taking the boys out more and more and Logan has accepted and even seems to enjoy car rides. I’ve been getting out with them by myself to go to the grocery store, pet store for cat food, etc.
A good friend who used to be a mainstay in the Texas DJ world recently came out of retirement and last month we found out he is playing at a gig opening for Derrick Carter in Dallas. Dusty’s parents were more then happy to offer to babysit tonight and Bob and Gyee were more then happy to offer their guest room for us. And so a plan came together.
I’m looking forward to taking the boys to meet their great grandparents this afternoon. Dusty’s grandfather is such a wonderful man with such a wonderful name that Forest was blessed with it as his middle name, Manning. I am glad that they have so many great grandparents to get to know and hope that they will be blessed with continued good health so that the boys will know them in years to come and remember them.
I’m looking forward to shaking my booty out on the dance floor tonight. It’s been so long that I can’t even remember how long it’s been. But it’s a club and a crowd I know well so it’ll be reminiscent of old times and what more can a new mom ask for? I even painted my toenails yesterday afternoon since the boys napped so well. I haven’t had painted toenails since before the birth. Yeah, some things get neglected. Painted toenails and plucking eyebrows are my two big ones. But tonight I’m ready for some fun so it’s red sparkling toes for me!
