grandparents and such

This week I’ve been venturing out with the boys more. Yesterday we took a 30 minute walk around the block with Zonk and today they went with me to the pharmacy. This may not seem like a big deal but after months and months of Logan being so tempermental I am trying to move out of fear of his reactions to things and just trust that he’s gotten more easy going. We are enjoying beautiful weather this week after a weekend of winter rain and cold so this is a nice break for us all. I’m glad that they are getting out and experiencing the sun, trees, wind, etc.

We had been planning to travel to L.A. on Saturday to visit with Brad’s family. However I received a phone call from my Mom on Easter letting me know that my Grandfather had passed away. Brad and I went into gear trying to figure out how to get me up there for the funeral. Brad’s Mom selflessly made the point that we could just exchange our tickets and I could take the visit to Seattle. And so the boy’s first plane flight is now to Washington and they will be seeing Nana and Grampy and attending their Great Grandfather Pavey’s funeral.

Dusty’s Mom and Grandmother visited us on Monday. Logan wasn’t in a good mood, seemed to be having a really bad time with his teething pain. It was good to see them and give them some quiet time with the boys. These two boys have so many wonderful grandparents! They definitely hit the jackpot.

I feel like I hit the jackpot too. We have a unique situation with Dusty and I’s marriage ending and Brad and I’s just beginning - on top of having twins. All three of our families have been supportive in very hands on ways. Offers to babysit, change diapers, you name it. And since none of them live in our city, in fact one set is in Cali and one set in Washington… it’s a big deal. But I’ve never felt like I’ve been closer to my family and it’s nice to have so much more family now.
