changes

Logan has turned yet another corner. It seems that he just wakes up one day and is a totally happier and less sensitive baby. It started Friday and as the weekend progressed he was more and more amazing… smiling constantly, being less upset about his tummy and gas discomfort after each feeding, going to bed Sunday night without crying. The time change seems to have worked in our favor or maybe it’s just coincidence but he hasn’t cried or fought his sleep the past two nights. Last week he started being able to sit in the bouncy chair and watch us eat dinner without the crying we had gotten accustomed to in the evenings. And those smiles!! That boy is wrapping us around his fingers.

I remember hearing my friends say that children will change on you. They will go down for a nap and wake up a totally different person. I definitely have that experience with Logan.

Forest can now soothe himself to sleep for naps in the morning. If I put him down in the crib, he’ll watch the mobile until he falls asleep. Of course he doesn’t sleep for very long because his arms still startle him awake which is why we still use the swaddlers with both our boys, but it’s still a great stride.

It looks like we are on the path towards more sleep as the past few nights we’ve consistently had 4-5.5 hour stretches!! This means only one wake up during the night. Now I can start thinking about making a trip up to Dallas/Fort Worth to see the family and friends there with the boys.
