recent changes

There have been a few recent changes that are interesting.

They boys have started eating every 2 hours during the day, but then eating less often at night (yay more sleep!).  This is tough on me during the day because it basically means feeding a baby every hour because the boys often end up on different schedules in the morning (one will sleep longer then the other).   But it sure is nice to start to see those 4-5 hour stretches at night!  The only problem with this is how difficult it is to go out and do things.

Logan isn’t very happy about the bottle but we need to get him used to switching back and forth so that I can get out more and we can occasionally use a baby sitter (or grandparents like next month).  So we are going to start giving a bottle occasionally on the weekend to help him get more used to it.  Forest does just fine with the bottle.  I’m grateful to have never had to deal with nipple confusion.

The immunizations last week did a number on Logan’s temperament but he seems to be getting back to normal.  He’s still a bit tough in the evenings.  What’s funny is that we have had to remind ourselves of how he was for that 6 week (or so) stint of raging screaming for hours on end.  Yes, it’s true, you really do start to forget and move on.  The immunizations also seemed to have changed their diaper habits.  After a month of only one dirty diaper a week, Forest is back to several times a day and even Logan has become more often.  I have a strong feeling this is from the Rotavirus vaccine.  Forest definitely had diarrhea for several days and is just now getting back to normal.  Poor little guys :(

I hired a collage student to help me out 3 days, 15 hours a week.  She is very sweet, professional and eager to work with babies.  While she doesn’t have a lot of previous baby experience, since I’m not expecting her to be alone with the boys at first, I’m not worried about it.  I’m looking forward to having the help as well as someone to chat with during those times.
