past week

This week Brad’s Mom, Peggy, was in town to help us with the boys. Boy am I grateful! Brad and I got to get out to run errands, have dinner with friends, and just in general relax. I even got a much needed chair massage at Whole Foods yesterday afternoon. I can feel it this morning!

Logan is starting to deal with things better and while occasionally will “freak out” for the most part he can be coaxed out of being upset without resorting to use of “the sound” aka the calming sounds on the “Happiest Baby on the Block” DVD. Logan just has a very hard time when he has gas or acid reflux, while Forest will just sit and suck on his pacifier and deal with things on his own.

They are going longer between meals again as of the end of this week and seem to have gotten over their growth spurt. That and I’ve gone back to 15 minutes per feed instead of 10, it just didn’t seem to be enough. I am having trouble with them being very fussy during certain meals. Not sure if it’s the acid reflux or possibly a fast let down. It’s very hard for me because they don’t latch on correctly and will even gum the nipples and hurt me. I need to do some more research and try different things. Not sure how to transfer the ideas for fast let down into twin tandem feeding but I’m willing to try.
We are going to hire a part time helper for about 10-15 hours a week to assist me with the boys and up keep of the house. I posted an ad on craig’s list and already have one good response. Just for the next few months but it should make a huge difference. Maybe then I’ll have to time to write more interesting and detailed posts!
