6 weeks

Logan does not keep us up every night, what a blessing! While the other night was the worst night ever (crying until 2:30 AM), he’s now gone 2 nights without any. Definitely interesting. I’m trying to resist my urge to try and “figure it out” because I’m obsessing on that and it’s causing me more stress then just dealing with him and giving him my love.

More friends are offering to help an hour here and an hour there. Whew! That’s time for both boys to get some holding and attention and time for me to keep my sanity. Brad’s Mom arrives on Friday and is staying a week in town to help me during the day and give Brad and I some time out and about. Dusty came over last night and watched the boys for an hour while Brad and I went out to dinner. As usual they slept like little angels so Dusty is still waiting to see how it can be tough sometimes.

Today is 6 weeks since the birth.
My body is almost completely back to normal again as my weight is down and my scar is healing. It’s still sensitive and in some spots numb. I’m continuing to wear early pregnancy pants because they are more gentle on the scar but I pulled out my pre- pregnancy jeans this weekend and at least one pair isn’t too hard on it so yay! That’s right, the only thing keeping me out of my pre-pregnancy jeans is my c-section scar!! I had some lingering rash on the inside of my arms but that seems to be clearing now as well which is good because the scratching during night feedings was getting to be horrible.

I still have a bit of a belly but it’s really “mushy” and there does appear to be some excess skin hanging down a bit and over the scar in fact. I’m going to start making time for yoga and slowly begin that again to try and rebuild my strength. I hope doing abdominal work will help the skin as well as the muscle but I’m not sure how all that works. I think I’ll take a picture of my post pregnancy stomach and post it here in the coming weeks. It’s not sexy by any means but as many women before me have said, it’s my badge of honor for having carried twin boys full term and with great health for all three of us. That’s saying a lot so who cares if I can’t wear a bikini again, there are plenty of sexy one piece suites!

I noticed immediately after coming home that my legs are a lot skinnier and my knees VERY weak. I’ve felt the knee strength rebuilding in the past week or so and I know that the yoga and carrying babies will continue to help.

Logan and Forest are both becoming more and more aware of their surroundings. Responding to sounds and looking around a lot. They absolutely love the “Tiny Love” mobile that Dolly gave us - I highly recommend these! It’s big and goes low so that they’ve been able to see it since early on when their point of view required things to be close. They are sleeping for 4 hours at a time at night and Logan is even going 4 hour stretches during the day some times (like this morning). Tomorrow Forest goes into the pediatrician for another weigh in so I’ll post the details when we get home!
