Just a few hours now
I check into the hospital at 7 PM tonight to start the induction process. My poor body, it’s so ready. And I feel comfortable after talking with the twins a lot that they are ready too. Not sure why they didn’t choose to come on their own but there may be a good reason that we may or may not find out tomorrow (like a cord around the neck). My doctor finds it very funny that she has to induce twins, very unusual for them not to be here by 36 weeks, and we made it all the way to 38 weeks!
Tonight they will be administering a horomone gel (which simulates prostoglandin) to my cervix to help it soften and “ripen.” This way it will start to open up for the babies. It is possible that this will start the labor process but if not, tomorrow morning they will begin administering pitocin (which simulates oxcytocin) to cause contractions. This is when the real work will start. I’m going to be praying that the gel tonight starts the process so that we can move through things quickly and naturally but I’m prepared for whatever may come.
I’ll post baby pictures as soon as I have time and possibly a few “I’m bored sitting here in the hospital” posts tomorrow.

I know that you had hoped the boys would make their entrance unassisted, but it is kind of cool to have to be induced with twins :) Congratulations on a wonderful, healthy pregnancy. I am anxiously awaiting the pictures of your beautiful boys! Good luck tomorrow–I’ll be thinking of you!

The entire time you’ve had this website, I thought it was called “The Joy Soft Twins”
I thought that was a really cool creative name that you gave your journla. The Joy of Twins is neat too and makes more sense considering the theme.
But I like mine better. harr harr harr
