chiropractic massage
Today I went to the chiropractor again. She did the usual pelvic and some back adjustments while I was on my stomach and then she did some work on my pelvis, belly and arms while I was on my back. Next I went and spent about 20-30 minutes with their massage therapist. Don’t be fooled, this is not relaxing massage. In fact, I didn’t even strip down except to take off my shirt. She had the cool belly pillow so that I could lay on my stomach which was sooooo nice. She worked my shoulders and back really well as well as just around my arm pit. They are trying to help with my numb fingers with both skeletol and muscle work. She also used her elbow to work out my gluts while rotating my legs to really get into different spots. Nothing like having your butt massaged! She also found a very sensative spot on my neck and worked out my neck really well. I think I carry a lot of my stress in my neck so this was very welcome despite the discomfort. Again, this was not relaxing, it was painful at times. I was glad to know how to breath with the massage (thanks to Rebecca Redfox). I pretty much would trance out and almost disassociate which helped make me relax more so hopefully it helped her do the massage. I was almost immediately hit by the icky feeling that good body work will bring on. Feeling like I’m getting sick but drinking lots of water and napping, knowing that it means good things. I fully expect to be sore tonight/tomorrow but I have another appointment on Friday to look forward to.
I highly recommend taking full advantage of your medical insurance’s coverage of chiropractic services while pregnant. Especially during the final months when it’s a special treat during the most discomfort.
