Family

Last week passed by quickly, probably because I got out and about a few times for lunches with friends. I’m learning that I need to get out once a day for something, anything, in order to keep my sanity. And lunches with friends I don’t often see is a darn good thing anyway.

I’m still absorbing some of the experiences from the retreat recently. This is pretty common for me. Some “ah-ha’s” are immediate and others take awhile to come through in clarity.

Interestingly enough while my mother in law wasn’t there, I think the most important moments that I had at the retreat related to her. We’ve emailed and spoken since and I just have to reiterate how very much I love her for being such an incredible woman and good friend. I’ve been very blessed in life (for some unknown reason). There are a lot of changes going on in my life right now (one of these days I’ll post it all here, but not yet) and I not only have incredible friends and partners going through it with me but our families are also amazing, wonderful, and supportive. I know a lot of people who don’t get along with their own families not to mention their spouses’ families but instead I have been gifted with so much love by such kind people - from many families.

Have I mentioned yet how much I enjoy the 2 hour long phone conversations I have now with Mom or Dad? Something about having kids unites you with your parents yet again in a new way.

I’m looking forward to bringing these little ones into the world and sharing several families with them. Our family of friends in Texas. My family of friends in Virginia. My family. Dusty’s family. Brad’s family. The earthsprings family. The moonsisters family. And there are many new families as our circle of friends continues to expand and grow. Can’t help trying to picture it all in the future and yet am completely unable to.

It means so much to me that you have such a good relationship with my mom. Thanks for that (:
