these days
Where to begin?
Currently up 28 pounds which is perfectly on for my 27th week. Logan and Forest’s movements are very distinct and very big. Logan especially (on the left)… we sit in the evenings and watch my belly roll around. It’s something straight out of a science fiction movie.
It’s been great not working. I have enjoyed being able to nap and rest when I need to. Unfortunately I’ve started to notice that the days when I don’t take my afternoon nap results in severe back pressure in the evenings and I’m miserable. The ache leaves me very emotional and it’s just plain miserable. So I’m going to make the afternoon nap a requirement and see if it helps. I’m enjoying watching the birds and squirrels in the back yard and reading every day. There will be plenty of time for watching tv when the babies come, but reading time is a precious commodity.
Random pregnancy weirdness: constipation and leaking nipples. And just when you think you have the constipation under control with regular fiber drinks *bam* it sneaks up on you again. The leaking nipples is a whole new thing recently and honestly it’s been one of the first things to creep me out about the experience of being pregnant. Funny that some things get to us and others don’t. So now I’m wearing those bra pads for after the babies are born to prevent any embarrasing moments in public.
OB appointment today including my glucose test for gestational diabetes. I believe they will also be checking my iron level. I’ve been taking a supplement for the past few weeks so that shouldn’t be a problem. I’m sure I’ll post more with details when I get home.
Spent three hours with Angela yesterday getting my hair dyed. It is so beautiful! Streaks of blue, violet, and a reddish pink. What’s great is that with my dark hair it still has a classy look and isn’t too “in your face.” It’s obvious I’m not trying to freak people out or make a statement, just trying to have some fun now that I can. I’ll take pics of me and the belly this weekend so that my dad can shake his head in disbelief and wonder what is wrong with his oldest child. Don’t worry dad, I’m still a good kid. ;)

Wow my parents almost named my bro - Forest. I’m still amazed at my belly and what’s inside me, especially since he’s so big now. There’s an alien in there!
Constipation is fun. Actually, this military doc gave me a prescription for constipation pills when I first got preg and said I would need it. Boy was she right. Specially after being prescribed iron pills too. The lactating nipples hasn’t happened to me yet. However, I’ve already bought the pads just in case and a thing of heavy duty regular pads for after the birth.
Can’t wait to see pics of the hair.
