lovely weekend
Friday night I went and saw Clerks 2 with Dusty at the Alamo Drafthouse. It was a funny movie and I laughed really hard during several parts. So hard that it hurt. Kevin Smith would be one fun person to kick back some drinks with if he’s as funny as his movies.
Saturday morning I woke up around 6 AM and caught a movie I’ve been wanting to see, “In Her Shoes”, on HBO. It was a really great movie about sisters. Headed out to go to the Viva Day Spa at 9:30 AM. I loved the spa… really good people and environment, very Austin. My 2 hour pregnancy pampering was amazing. The massage theropist was soooo good, one of the best I’ve ever had. Not that I’ve had a lot, but enough to make comparisons. I’d definitely go back to her again. She worked out my shoulders and back and hit spots on my neck that just sent me floating. Takes talent to massage you while laying on your side. The herbal oil head massage at the end was the final touch as I started to drift off to sleep after 2 hours of being kneaded and warmed. It was also nice receiving the hour long pedicure with more foot and leg massaging and now I feel like my feet are pretty again after a few months of not being able to reach them on my own.
After the spa I met up with Wendy and enjoyed time with her and Alissa in the afternoon and time with Wendy, Angela and Shaunna in the evening. It was so needed to catch up with these amazing women who I love so very much. It wasn’t enough time but at least it was time together. Angela is an incredible cook and made the best mashed potatoes with fresh rosemary, bacon and was that sour cream I tasted? Her pork tenderloin was PERFECT as was her asperagus. I had seconds of both of tenderloin and the potatoes. I finally went to sleep around 1:30 which is probably a record for me since May.
Because I didn’t sleep well, I slept until 11 today! After such a long Saturday I decided to stay in and make the most of down time. I’m staying hydrated and watching movies and tv this afternoon. The cats are enjoying all the extra attention and love. While watching tv I found myself putting a little bowl of sunflower seeds on top of my belly. I didn’t realize it for several moments and just laughed at myself once I noticed. Yes, I actually have the little table belly now.
