patience
It seems like OB/Gyn’s offices are always crazy. I certainly respect and understand that it’s not like a regular practice and that a lot of things happen quickly and change often. However it can be a bit frustrating sometimes when these changes and mistakes caused by everything going on effect you. I got a call a few weeks ago saying that they had to change my OB appointment because she wasn’t going to be in the office due to a scheduled vacation. Mind you said vacation was mentioned to me when my initial appointment was scheduled and that’s why it was scheduled for when it was, to avoid conflict. And yet there still was one. Well I live and work about 30 minutes away from the clinic which means about and hour to an hour and a half during rush hour so I am very specific about what hours I schedule appointments. We couldn’t figure one out for this week with her limited schedule already being full and my no rush hour rule so it was suggested that I see one of the other docs in the practice. Makes sense to me since who knows who will actually deliver the babies for me so why not one of the others for an appointment? It was going to be the same day and time, just a different doctor to make things easy for me.

I ended up with two appointments scheduled for today and let work know that I would be out all afternoon. So I go to the Perinatal appointment which goes well- got to see the boy’s faces! Talk about amazing! I then have an hour and 15 minutes to kill so I check out a fancy and expensive maternity store (but with some darn nice stuff) and call my mom for a chat. When I got up to the OB’s office for my appointment I’m informed that I’m a day early. UGH! Patience is a virtue…
Had a wonderful talk with Mom today and an awesome talk with Dad last night. It doesn’t get much better then having your father remind you of how proud your parents are of you and the choices you’ve made. That they love you and support your decisions. I’ve always felt very blessed to have my parents and am reminded of this constantly.
