cats hiccup?

The other day I was laying on the couch watching TV. Jasmine did her normal move and jumped up to lay next to me. I was laying on my side so she snuggled up against my belly and chest as close as she could get. I felt one of the babies get the hiccups and a few moments later noticed that Jasmine’s back was moving in a strange jerky motion. This went on for several minutes until it finally hit me that Jasmine had the hiccups too and she must have got them from being able to feel the baby’s! I know it sounds strange but I’ve never seen Jasmine have the hiccups before but she had them for some time that evening, even struggling with them after getting up from beside me. Jasmine has been really aware of being careful with my belly and chest since the beginning of the pregnancy, as if she knows to be gentle. She quit doing some of her more common moves like laying on my chest at night. She seems to get it and understand on some level in some way to be careful. I can’t wait to see how she respondes to having the babies here. I fear there will be some jealousy and acting up because of it but maybe it won’t be as bad as I fear as she takes on a motherly role herself.
