22 weeks and all is well

Had a wonderful weekend that included naps, deer in the neighborhood, dancing to 80s music, Superman in 3D at the Imax (I thought 3D was disappointing) and otherwise goodness.

Lots of baby activity, I think I’ve experienced the babies’ hiccups that I’ve read about.

My knuckles hurt often now. I tried to research it on the internet and the best I can find is that it’s fluid retention in the joints caused by the pregnancy. Reminds me of how they would feel when really cold and I thought I was getting arthritis, however living in warm Texas I haven’t felt that ache is several years. Warm water does help. Although being out and about on my feet for any length of time makes the swelling and ache worse in my hands, knees and feet. I crack my knuckles a lot, even when waking up in the middle of the night they feel so stiff that I just automatically do it half asleep.

My belly button was stretched thin and almost shut last week and now it’s starting to push out a little.  Looks like I may have an outty before too long.

Wednesday I have my first appointment at the Parinatal clinic for the Preterm Labor Program. I don’t know much about it really so I’ll have to post after and explain what I learn. I understand that my visits will be regular with a nurse who will be keeping track of a lot of signs and symptoms to make sure that I avoid if possible and catch quickly if not - preterm labor.

Short work week as I’m heading out of town this weekend for a mini-vacation. Can’t wait!
