version 2.2

On Tuesday I sent out an email to our staff letting them know that I am leaving a little early because of the twin pregnancy and that I won’t be coming back and introduced them to my replacement. Several employees sent kind emails of congratulations. This one was the funniest, considering it came [...]

catching up on Tuesday

Thursday afternoon I did in fact experience my first contractions.  I’m assuming they were Braxton-Hicks:  sporadic uterine contractions that actually start at about 6 weeks, although they aren’t felt that early. You don’t start to notice them until sometime after midpregnancy, some women don’t at all. They get their name from John Braxton Hicks, an [...]

success

I hired my replacement for work today and he starts next Wednesday.  This takes a big load off my shoulders.  I’ve been so busy this week I’ve gone two days now without eating lunch and I’m not drinking as much as I should be.   And the past few weeks have been very similar; definitely not [...]

Preterm Prevention Labor Program for twins

I just got back from my appointment at the Parinatal clinic and my first Preterm Prevention Labor Program appointment. These will be weekly appointments from now until 34 weeks when I start seeing my OB weekly. I’ll be working with Laura who is an RN and has a wonderful personality. A few [...]

Tamales for breakfast

I have the pleasure of working with two really wonderful woman that make going to work enjoyable. One is our Staff Accountant, my 2nd hire here at the company. She loves to cook and dreams of one day having her own restaurant. Today is the company’s 7 year anniversary so last night [...]

22 weeks and all is well

Had a wonderful weekend that included naps, deer in the neighborhood, dancing to 80s music, Superman in 3D at the Imax (I thought 3D was disappointing) and otherwise goodness.
Lots of baby activity, I think I’ve experienced the babies’ hiccups that I’ve read about.
My knuckles hurt often now. I tried to research it on the [...]

last weeks images

I know many people are looking forward to seeing last weeks ultrasound pictures and video which includes proof of manhood.  Unfortunately Brad, otherwise known as “he who has access to all the appropriate technology to get the pictures and video into the right format” has been working like crazy at his paying job for the [...]

weight gain – oh my!

At last weeks OB appointment I weighed in at 156.5 – 16.5 lbs gained since the beginning. Last night I got on the scale and I’m somewhere around 160-163 (it’s a cheap scale). That’s a lot for one week! Looks like the weight gain has really started!! My goal is [...]

optimistic

Yesterday the little boys were kicking and swimming away in there a lot! Of course when I tried to share the experience with Shaunna last night they quieted down and she didn’t get to feel them. It’s a different feeling lately, very gurgling- like I can actually feel them swimming around and [...]

some baby bonding ideas

Last night Dusty and I contimplated names for the second boy. We are currently considering Logan Sol to join Forest Manning.
I’m happy to say that thanks to various bargain shopping the only big item left to buy for the twins is the co-sleeper. I tend to be more on the “attachment parenting” school [...]
