nursery theme
Crystal sent the cutest lil onesies along with adorable socks and hats for the twins. Many thanks for her kind gifts.
My desire to have a bunny themed room is more difficult then I thought. I had always wanted Peter Rabbit however they discontinued the cute blue set and are now doing one in a funny yellow color. I’m not a big fan of these new colors so I started checking out other possibilities. I have lots of stuffed rabbits I’ve collected over the years so I thought I’d see if I could find nursery stuff that would compliment the already existing bunnies. I’m still set on thinking it’s a boy and a girl but I’m also not interested in traditional boy and girl colors. I’d like the room to be pleasant and fit my personality as well.
I felt pretty silly last week as all of this caused me a lot of distress when I realized that planning the nursery is something along the lines of planning your wedding. Just like I knew I wanted to look like a princess on my wedding day, I want the nursery to be special and beautiful for my babies.
Now “crib sets” are kinda funny, especially considering the price. I mean really it’s many things you don’t NEED – but they sure do make the nursery look cute. You need sheets and bumpers but you can’t even use the “quilts” that come with the sets because they aren’t a soft material and usually end up hanging on the wall as decoration.
I found an ADORABLE bunny set but it’s by Pottery Barn which means it’s terribly expensive and to top that off, it’s discontinued! Wendy tried buying a whole set up for me on ebay but someone outbid her in the last minute (I had some kind words for the evil woman that dashed my hopes like that). My idea now is to find a cute bunny mobile and go with basic crib stuff that matches but will cost a little less. Now the question is one or two mobiles? And both bunny?? *sigh*
I found a cute mobile on babiesrus.com, part of a set called “clover fields”. I had one that I liked more but babiesrus.com is no longer affiliated with amazon.com and when that changed the “polka dots by summersault” disappeared from their inventory. The “clover fields” mobile has blue, yellow, sage green, red…lots of good colors. Unlike the other two that they carry which are pink… very pink. So I started cruising around and looking at colors that match and decided on a nursery of blues and yellow. This will be good for both boys and girls and I find it very appealing personally. And it works with bunnies (it always comes back to the bunnies). I finally feel good about the nursery decor now.
